Support MinGW on Windows (implement rake-compiler)
Reported by Luis Lavena | June 11th, 2009 @ 06:18 PM
Hello Guys,
Upcoming One-Click Installer will be built around GCC (MinGW) on Windows.
Because of that, and during the transition, both mswin32 and mingw32 binary platform gems are recommended to be supported and generated.
I suggest you guys take a look to rake-compiler project, which was created to simplify the process of building and compiling, including cross-compilation of binary gems for Windows form Linux or OSX.
Please take a look to the project on GitHub:
http://github.com/luislavena/rake-compiler/tree/master
And other examples of usage:

I believe this would help you on the process and will be a win / win situation for all the Ruby community and RedCloth users.
Cheers.
